  • Columbarium of Pomponius Hylas
    An underground family burial place from the Julian period, decorated with frescoes and mosaics.

  • Excubitorium of the Seventh Fire Brigade
    Was once the barracks of the 7th fire brigade of Augustan Rome. In the 2nd century the building was turned into a military barracks.

  • Ipogeum of Via Livenza
    Dating from the 4th century A.D., it is decorated with paintings and mosaics.

  • Ludus Magnus
    This was the main barracks for gladiators of ancient Rome. It contained their lodgings and a training area.

  • Mausoleum of Augustus
    A circular monument, ordered by Augustus as a tomb for himself and his family, it was covered by a tumults with cypress tree and had a bronze statue of the emperor.

  • Mausoleum of Lucilius Peto
    Tumulus tomb dating from the late 1st century B.C.

  • Mithraeum of Circus Maximus
    Found in the basement of the building closing the Circus Maximus to the north, it has a large bas-relief depicting "Mithras Killing the Bull".

  • "Monte del Grano" Mausoleum
    Remains of a magnificent mausoleum.

  • Monte Testaccio
    This is an artificial hill created in ancient Roman times from the discarded shards of the adjacent food warehouse, nicknamed "Monte dei Cocci" ("Shard Hill") by the Romans.

  • Nymphaeum of Via degli Annibaldi
    The nymphaeum, finely decorated with shells and mother-of-pearl, vas discovered in 1895. At the present it is divided by the wall supporting the road.

    Remains of four republican temples, whose facades were all oriented eastward. One of the most ancient archaeological complexes of Rome.

    Remains of a sacred area where the temples of Magna Mater and Fortune once stood (6th century B.C).

    A magnificent two-storey cistern, consisting on nine intercommunicating parallel rooms, which was part of the Trajan's bath complex.

  • Stadium of Domitian
    Remains of the Stadium, of which Piazza Navona preserves the shape and dimensions.

  • Wall-walk of Viale Castrense and Porta Asinaria
    The ancient Asinaria gate was restored to its original condition in 1951. It is possible to visit the inside of the walls and the wall-walk above.
