Vatican City

The Vatican City is the most little country around world, with only 44 hectares and 900 habitants, the Vatican has own autonomy, The city is located inside of Roma province in Italy. The Vatican was founded in 1929 by means of Lateran Pacts, signed between Holy See and Rome kingdom. The Vatican City has its own coins and issues its own postage stamps, also the governing body is the Holy See, with an own constitution and rules and its head of state and highest authority is the pope, in this case Benedict XVI .

Vatican City The Vatican State has wonderful monuments and edifications, all of them are constructed by famous artist like Miguel Angel and many others. One of its monuments is the Sistine chapel, inside of it, in the vault; Miguel Angel painted his famous art work: The Final Judgment and it is the place to change and choose a new pope (Conclave), another important place inside of Vatican is La Piazza di San Pedro (San Pedro Plaza) the plaza is surrounded by 140 Saints statues, also in the middle of the plaza is an obelisk, this one was carried of Alexandria in Egypt.

St. Peter's Basilica, is the biggest catholic basilica around world and is considered the center of world catholic faith because in this place is buried the holy apostle. Besides Vatican City have the most important art works and valuable pictures. Finally, the Vatican City has his own TV and radio station, newspaper until an astronomical station, of course, for his investigations and studies.

People can arrive to Vatican City from Italian capital of Rome, by taxi, bus or by foot. Take the Metro line A to Cipro for the Museums, or Ottaviano for St. Peter's, or the tram to Piazza del Risorgimento.
